Non-Restricted Canadian Firearms Safety Course

The Canadian Firearms Safety Course is an introductory class designed to apply to the broadest possible spectrum of novice and experienced firearms users. This course is a requirement for applying for a Possession Acquisition License (PAL). Individuals in Canada who wish to own, purchase, or inherit firearms or ammunition must possess a PAL to legally do so. The course is 8 hours of classroom time plus a testing period.

Restricted Canadian Firearms Safety Course

The Canadian Restricted Firearms Safety Course is an introductory class designed to be taken after the completion of the CFSC in order to broaden the users understanding of the restricted category of firearms. . This course is a requirement for applying for a Restricted Possession Acquisition License (RPAL). Individuals in Canada who wish to own, purchase, or inherit restricted firearms must also possess a RPAL to legally do so. The course is 6 hours of classroom time plus a testing period.
